MFA in ILLUSTRATION

I am a proud Illustration MFA grad student attending the Academy of Art University.

SO HERE’S MY GRAD SCHOOL LOW DOWN

After several years of sitting on the sidelines, thinking and dreaming about attending design school, I finally took the plunge and just did it.

THE SCHOOL

I chose The School of Illustration (graduate program) at the Academy of Art University to further expand my design knowledge as well as to delve deep into the illustration realm of graphic novels, comic books, storyboards, concept art, children’s book illustrator and more.

WHY ILLUSTRATION?

Illustration, and all its niches, became an area of high interest to me around 2016 when I was attempting to further differentiate the brand communications of my clients beyond typical stock photos and such. Moreover, I myself began to experiment with illustration for a number of my own personal projects.

MY PROGRESS THUS FAR

Design school is no joke. My creative mind is being stretched to new heights and there are days, I’ll be frank, when I think I’m in way over my head or my artwork suck and I don’t belong blah blah blah. But that’s just stress talking. I’m so excited about my Illustration program and I really do look forward to completing the master’s degree, which is currently slated for completion (I hope) around 2020.
